Commitment to Excellence
Strategic Growth. Financial Stability. Effective Programs.
Dear YWCA Friends,
As I reflect on the past year, I take pride in telling you that the YWCA Sioux Falls organization has remained focused on making our community a better place for women and for families.
Once again this year, the YWCA experienced growth – more girls participating in youth recreation opportunities, more children being cared for in our two childcare centers, more parents seeking a different learning experience for their preschool child via our KinderCollege program.
The opportunities for this organization continue to evolve and the Board of Directors continues to update strategies that allow us to respond to opportunities that are presented. In 2010, the board updated the three-year strategic plan for the organization, and was encouraged that much of the focus from the prior plan had been achieved. We are committed to being positioned to respond to the changing needs of women and their families, to partner with other organizations with similar values and vision to meet these needs, in order that the YWCA Sioux Falls remains the recognized resource in our community for women and families.
You’ll find that the YWCA ended the year well and we have good fiscal accountability policies in place. We are thankful to all of our supporters throughout the year who embraced the mission to help us serve this community and make it a better place. The YWCA is able to serve all those who seek our services because of this outside community support.
In 2011 you’ll be invited to help us celebrate 90 years in Sioux Falls! We look forward to celebrating the memories – but more so, our future with this great community!
On behalf of the YWCA Board of Directors, thank you.
Sherri Rotert, 2010 Board President
