Lead to Greatness
Through the YWCA, women are able to discover their potential, become leaders and use their power to create dynamic and evolving communities. At the heart of all leadership development in the YWCA is a culture that all leadership should be shared, intergenerational and transformative.
Laurie’s MESSAGE
“In November, 2011, the YWCA Sioux Falls celebrated 90 years of serving the Sioux Falls area. It provided opportunity to celebrate all of those who have walked before us to bring the organization to where it is today. And it provided opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to continuing to meet the needs of our community well into the future.
Our work at the YWCA today continues to have impact on the lives of individuals and families in so many ways…
- Hundreds of parents can work each day knowing their child(ren) is in the safe, learning environment of our childcare centers.
- Youth of all ages are being encouraged to be their best, to be healthy and to stay active through our various youth programs.
- Adults are improving their health and well-being via our fitness and aquatics programs.
- Children and adults are learning to swim in our pool; a skill they will carry throughout their lives.
- Women are impacting the future leaders of our community via our leadership development and mentorship program.
- YWCA employees are challenged to be their best and know that their work is helping to make our community a better place for everyone.
We’re proud of our past and the work we’re doing today, and enthused about our future.”
