The YWCA - a safe and fun place for all who visit.
Attire - Make sure that you're dressed appropriately and safely for your workout. Athletic shoes and shirts must be worn during exercise in all workout areas. Proper swimsuits must be worn when using swimming pools. Please do not wear swim suit attire in the lobby.
Cell Phones / Video Recording and Camera Policy - Cell phone usage is not allowed in any locker room in accordance with the Video Voyeurism Prevention Act of 2004. So keep the cell phone turned off and stowed away, and save the conversations until you’ve walked out the door. Video recorders, cameras and any other visual recording devices are not allowed within the YWCA without the prior written permission of the CEO or Director of Marketing.
Child Supervision - Children under age 13 must be supervised by an adult in all areas of the facility, or they must be enrolled in a supervised program activity. For their safety, children are not permitted in the fitness center or in the sauna.
Financial Assistance - To reach as many people as possible, the YWCA provides financial assistance for memberships and programs. Please stop by our membership desk to pick up a scholarship application.
Food and Drinks - Food and drinks are not permitted in the workout areas or locker rooms, except water. Please use the tables in the lobby area for eating.
Guest Policy - Guests are welcomed at the YWCA. Guests must be accompanied by a member and have a picture ID. Contact the membership desk for specific guest policies.
Health Screening - If you have been away from the YWCA due to illness or injury, you will be required to bring a physicians note stating your ability to participate in an exercise program.
Lockers - Lockers are available for rent or available for day use by members and guests. Bring your own lock and remove it at the end of each visit. Items left overnight will be removed from the locker room and placed in Lost and Found. The YWCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. To rent a locker, please sign up at the membership desk.
Membership Card - Your membership card is valuable and important. You must present it each time you enter the building for access to the facility and when you register for special programs. Lost cards may be replaced for a nominal fee of $5.00. Members who do not bring their card may not be permitted to use the facility.
Membership Cancellation / Transfer Policy - The YWCA requires a completed exit interview form as a 30-day notice and membership card to process membership termination. Exit interview forms are located at the front desk and must be filled out for a cancellation to be processed.
Membership Refunds - Membership refunds will be issued for the following reasons: member cannot participate for medical reasons supported by a doctor’s statement (refund is the prorated) or the member moves from the city (refund is pro-rated). The YWCA Sioux Falls will refund your membership/program fee within three (3) days of purchase. After three (3) days, credit will be issued.
Membership Revocation - The YWCA Sioux Falls reserves the right to revoke membership for any misconduct it considers unhealthy and unsafe for the program.
Zero-Tolerance Facility - The YWCA is a zero-tolerance facility. The following items are unacceptable:
- Disrespect of others, the facility or equipment
- Derogatory remarks or actions about race, creed, gender or appearance
- Destruction of the building or any YWCA property
- Clothing/headgear found to be offensive
- Smoking on YWCA property
- Use of drugs or alcohol on YWCA property
- Swearing
- Fighting
- Other behaviors deemed inappropriate
YWCA Liability Policy - Each person, as a member or visitor, is solely responsible for any personal injuries or losses sustained while on any YWCA property, or during any YWCA sponsored activity or program.
