The YWCA offers a variety of courses to assist you in becoming a lifeguard, water safety instructor, or trainer for lifeguards. Once certified you can enjoy the benfits of working at a pool, waterpark, waterfront location, or teaching other participants lifeguarding skills.

In 1926, Ronald Reagan began working as a lifeguard at Lowell Park, near Dixon. He was credited with saving 77 lives during the seven summers he worked there.
