Before & After School Care
Where the Fun Begins!
Serving 5 to 12 years of age
Our curriculum puts fun in reading, math and science along with exciting recreational opportunities only the YWCA can provide. Activities will also give students the chance to develop their talents in music, art and drama.
- Before school - breakfast and transportation from the YWCA to school. Students have the opportunity to get last minute help with homework, socialize with friends, have breakfast and enjoy some leisure time.
- After school - transportation from school to the YWCA. We teach children with hands-on projects such as art, gym games, sewing, club involvement, community service projects, group activities, special activities, science, math, reading, socializing and help with homework. Although participation in daily activities is not mandatory, we encourage students to explore different areas every day in their choices. A healthy snack and juice are served daily.
- Childcare is also provided on days when school is not in session. (Additional fees apply.)
We will bus your child to and from the following schools with sufficient enrollment: Discovery, Harrisburg Explorer, Harrisburg Journey, Harrisburg Liberty, Harvey Dunn, JFK, John Harris, Oscar Howe, Pettigrew and St. Michael's.
Sliding fees and multiple child discounts are available for families who qualify. Before and after school care is housed at the YWCA Avera South location on Ralph Rogers Road. We encourage parents to call or visit any time! (605) 362-9438.
