Founded in 1858, the YWCA USA was the first women’s organization established in the United States. And, it holds the distinction of being the only women’s organization that has been through every wave of the women’s rights movement and every phase of the civil rights movement.

The YWCA continues to be a bold leader, empowering women and broadening interracial understanding. Our women’s programs in Sioux Falls provide opportunities for the community to learn, grow, and reinforce the leadership and well-being of women. Our programs raise awareness on a variety of women’s issues, provide leadership and involvement opportunities, and actively promote gender equality and social justice issues.
