RIWA is a 100% donation and grant based program.

All of the services and programs provided to clients are provided at no cost, as these are women with very low economic means. Therefore, all programs that are planned require outside funding for support.

Opportunities to Support RIWA Program

1. General Operations Support comes from individual and corporate donations, grants, and YWCA fundraising revenue. Program expenses vary each year with the individual programs that are held.
2. Leadership Training Conference.  RIWA seeks financial support for an annual Leadership Training Conference held mid July each year. The Leadership Training Conference allows local refugee and immigrant women the opportunity for personal and professional growth by enhancing their skills and knowledge and encouraging their role as a leader within their ethnic communities as well as the local community as a whole. The day-long workshop will include sessions on effective communication skills, domestic abuse and its implications, financial literacy, health and wellness, parenting and higher education, as examples. Based on the low economic status of these women, this is a conference they would otherwise not be able to afford. This conference epitomizes the existence of RIWA in the community.
