Mentoring Enriches LIVES!
Mentoring represents a relationship between a more experienced person – the mentor – and a less experienced person – the protégé.

Being a mentor gives one the opportunity to assist a protégé with her personal and professional development by sharing knowledge learned through years of experience. While the main objective of a mentoring role is to challenge the protégé to think in new and different ways, the protégé is not the only one who gains from the arrangement. The mentor is enriched by the experience as well. Mentoring provides a unique way to help women develop leadership skills and confidence as they go forward in the world.
Through the YWCA Women's Leadership Program, protégés will participate in a series of six leadership training sessions. Over a three month period of time, the protégé will develop a plan that includes personal and professional goals and ways to achieve them. Upon completion of the training, a mentor will be matched with the protégé to support and guide her through the implementation of her plan over the next year.
